| My god, xanga is so much like myspace these days. What with the 'friends' feature and everything. :-/ I'm getting rather frustrated with social networking sites. I've been spending more and more (too much?) time on Facebook, Myspace, Care2 and a few recovery sites. But shit, if I gotta see one more comment from some stranger in nowheresville <<<<INSERT DISGUSTING PICTURE OF DUMB BABY WITH EGG ON IT'S FACE>>>> GOOD MORNING SUNSHINE!!!!! Gah! I'm throwing this computer across the frickin' room. The stupid glittery graphics are mind numbing. My computer takes FOREVER to load them. Why can't people just leave a thoughtful note? Something like: Good Morning, Crystal! Hope all is well with you! How's the weather in Chicago?? How's your mom?? How's your brother?? What are you wearing?? Creepy? Maybe a bit. Titilating? Maybe to me. Better than glitter? Hells yes! ...This post has nothing to do with Prop 8. Sorry, kids. Here's the plug:::::: PROTEST PROP 8 TODAY BOSTON!!! CITY HALL 1:30PM DO IT!!!!! EDIT: damn rain. |

| Are you there? Are you getting this? Dismembered, I'll arrive. Christ, it's been forever. Reading through some of these old posts makes me laugh my ass off! Was I really so ridiculous as a drunkard?? |

I've been thinking much about the idea of community as of late. What makes a community? How can one feel apart of a community?
When I was living in Chicago, my only friends were... well... my
boyfriend. That was it. Not, why was that? Was it ebcause I was focused
only on him? Because he took up all of my time? Because I was not in a
place motionally where I was ready to accepted new friends?
Does being a part of community occur when one opens themselves up
emotionally to BE a part of a community? Or does it have to do quite
simply with associating yourself with like minded folks?
If I were to move today, and relocate to a place where no one knew
me... Would I be able to make the same friends I have made now? To make
these same connections in a short amount of time?
Should I stay or should I go now...

Nope not dead, just busy.
Been burying myself in equal parts Johnny Cash and Macallan.

Life is good.
